Holden Outerwear

Greetings everyone. Wanted to let you know Solsticesupply.com is going to be carrying Holden Outerwear, effective sometime this January. We cruised out to Portland last month and Mike walked us through the line. Very cool people. We learned a thing or two while we were there and figured we'd share because it's pretty unique stuff. Holden is known for it's commitment to creating a superior product for snowboarding but we didn't know how far it went. Every choice made is primarily influenced by quality, not low overhead. Even their zippers are from the same company which services high end fashions houses like Prada. Their standard is high, so much that last year they had something like 25 warranties for the line total. Ridiculous. Holden has also shown environmental commitment over the years. This has led to the use of several eco-friendlier fabrics such as hemp and cocona, a natural coconut shell based fabric. Check out the Schoeller-ftc fabric, the eco-minded 3-layer answer to gortex. Good stuff, we need snow to shred right? They also keep it innovative like having their Kimono print made in the traditional style in a coastal Japanese factory which has been doing just that since the 1400's. No shit. Combine all this with their colorways and signature tailored cuts and you're looking at a company with the right idea. Lots of other cool aspects to these guys, could go on forever, go check'em out. Let us know what you think or if any of their gear(jackets, pants, sweats etc) seem especially rad to you. Wishing y'all 2 foot dumps and sunny skies. Go Snowboarding.
